Peru Rescues 23 Afghans from Migrant Traffickers
پولیس پرو ۲۳ پناه‌جوی اهل افغانستان را از بند قاچاقچیان انسان نجات داد
دادستانی کل پرو اعلام کرده است که پولیس این کشور ۲۳ پناه‌جوی اهل افغانستان را از دست قاچاقچیان انسان در امتداد مرز با برزیل نجات داده است.
به‌گفته‌ی دادستانی پرو، این پناه‌جویان سعی داشتند خودشان را به اکوادور برسانند و برای این منظور به قاچاقچیان انسان پول داده بودند.
در بیانیه‌ی دادستانی پرو آمده است، این پناه‌جویان فریب خوردند و توسط قاچاقچیان انسان در خانه‌ای بدون غذا در منطقه‌ی «مدره ده دیوز» در امتداد مرز پرو و برزیل نگهداری می‌شدند.
گفته شده که در میان این پناه‌جویان چهار کودک، از جمله یک نوزاد دوماهه وجود دارند.
دادستانی پرو نگفته است که این افراد چه مقدار پول به قاچاقچیان پرداخت کرده‌اند.
قاچاقچیان به این پناه‌جویان قول داده بودند که آنان را ابتدا به مالدونادو، شهری محلی در جنوب‌شرقی پرو می‌برند و از آن‌جا به پایتخت لیما و بعد به شهر تومبس در مرز اکوادور در شمال‌غربی منتقل می‌کنند.
Peruvian authorities Sunday rescued 23 Afghans from migrant traffickers along the border with Brazil, the attorney general’s office said.
The migrants, who were trying to get to Ecuador, paid money to people smugglers to transport them across the nation and to the northern border, prosecutors said.
But they were cheated out of their money and crowded into a house without food in the village of Inapari in the Madre de Dios department along the Peru-Brazil border, a statement from the prosecutor’s office said.
Among the victims were “four children, including a two-month-old baby,” it said.
Prosecutors did not say how much the migrants had paid the smugglers.
The Afghans were led to believe they would be transferred to a regional city, then on to the capital Lima before heading to Tumbes, a city near Peru’s northern border with Ecuador.
