Over two thousand Afghan migrants repatriated from Iran and Pakistan in one day
The Taliban Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates announced that 2,108 Afghan migrants were returned from Iran and Pakistan, both forcibly and voluntarily.
This ministry stated on Sunday, April 23, that 1,759 migrants returned from Iran and another 349 migrants from Pakistan.
The Taliban Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates, on Sunday, April 23, reported in a newsletter quoting border officials of the group that these migrants entered Afghanistan through the Torkham and Islam Qala border crossings.
Despite requests from human rights organizations to halt the deportation process, Tehran and Islamabad have continued to arrest, deport, and exert pressure on Afghan migrants.
