More than 3000 Afghan refugees have returned from Pakistan and Iran
According to the Ministry of Refugees and Taliban Returnees, more than 3000 Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan in the last two days. Returns were either voluntary or as a result of dismissal.
The ministry announced that 778 Afghan migrants entered the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings. A total of 390 people, including 70 families, and among them 18 people are those who were recently released from Pakistani prisons.
In addition, the ministry reported that at least 69 families, including 370 people, were forcibly evicted through Torkham.
In a separate statement, the ministry noted that more than 2,651 Afghan migrants in Iran were either deported or voluntarily repatriated through Islam Qala crossing.
This wave of returns coincides with the beginning of the second round of forced deportations by Pakistan, which has forced hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees to leave their territory.
