Germany says it will keep taking in migrants from Italy after all
آلمان می گوید که به پذیرش مهاجران از ایتالیا ادامه خواهد داد
وزیر کشور آلمان اواخر روز جمعه، دو روز پس از اعلام تعلیق توافق داوطلبانه با رم برای پذیرش مهاجران جدید، گفت که آلمان تصمیم گرفته است به پذیرش مهاجران و پناهندگانی که به ایتالیا می‌رسند ادامه دهد.
بر اساس طرح همبستگی اتحادیه اروپا، آلمان متعهد شده بود با پذیرش 3500 نفر به کشورهای عضوی مانند ایتالیا که به ویژه تحت فشار مهاجران هستند کمک کند، اما روز چهارشنبه اعلام کرد که این توافقنامه را به حالت تعلیق درآورد.
در این بیانیه آمده است که رم به تعهدات خود تحت قوانین به اصطلاح دوبلین اتحادیه اروپا برای رسیدگی به درخواست‌های پناهندگی در اولین ورود اتحادیه اروپا عمل نمی‌کند.
اما نانسی فایزر وزیر کشور گفت که ورود اخیر هزاران مهاجر به جزیره کوچک ایتالیایی لامپدوزا به این معنی است که آلمان در نهایت مردم را خواهد پذیرفت.
فائسر به رادیو تلویزیون آلمانی ARD گفت: “دلیل تعلیق این رویه… این است که ایتالیا هیچ تمایلی برای بازپس گیری افراد تحت رویه دوبلین نشان نداده است. اکنون مسلماً واضح است که ما به تعهدات خود مبنی بر همبستگی عمل خواهیم کرد.” جورجیا ملونی، نخست‌وزیر ایتالیا روز جمعه از اتحادیه اروپا خواست تا در صورت لزوم با یک مأموریت دریایی به منظور جلوگیری از عبور مهاجران از دریای مدیترانه از شمال آفریقا، اقدام کند.
او در واکنش به افزایش ورود مهاجران این هفته به لامپدوزا، جایی که فرود آمدن 7000 مهاجر باعث درخواست کمک از سوی سیاستمداران محلی شد، قول اقدام سختی داد.
Germany has decided to keep taking in migrants and refugees arriving in Italy, the interior minister said late on Friday, two days after it announced the suspension of a voluntary agreement with Rome to receive new arrivals.
Under an European Union solidarity scheme, Germany had pledged to help member states such as Italy that are particularly overwhelmed by migrants by taking in 3,500 people, but it announced the suspension of the accord on Wednesday.
It said Rome was not honouring its obligations under the EU’s so-called Dublin rules to process asylum applications in the EU country of first arrival.
But interior minister Nancy Faeser said the recent arrival of thousand of migrants in the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa meant Germany would take in people after all.
“The reason we have suspended the procedure …. is that Italy has shown no willingness whatsoever to take back people under the Dublin procedure. Now it’s of course clear that we will meet our obligation of solidarity,” Faeser told German broadcaster ARD. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on Friday for the EU to act jointly “with a naval mission if necessary” to prevent migrants crossing the Mediterranean from North Africa.
She promised tough action in response to the surge in migrant arrivals this week in Lampedusa, where the landing of 7,000 migrants triggered appeals for help from local politicians.
