UK Suspends Scholarships for Afghan Students
The UK has suspended its ‘Chevening’ scholarship program for Afghan students for the years 2025 and 2026.
As stated on the Chevening website, applications for this scholarship from Afghanistan are currently blocked and under review.
Since the Taliban’s return to power, the program has only accepted applications from Afghan citizens residing abroad.
This year, the UK has continued to block the acceptance of applications from Afghanistan.
“Chevening” is the largest educational scholarship offered by the UK, awarded annually to hundreds of students from around the world.
This scholarship is for postgraduate (master’s degree) level and covers all educational expenses, including university tuition and living costs, during the study period.
