CAPRS Non-Residential Fellowship 2024-2025

The University of Auckland’s Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies (CAPRS) is offering a unique opportunity through its Non-Residential Fellowship (NRF). This program supports scholars in transforming their completed master’s or doctoral theses into action-oriented policy projects or papers. These research projects should address issues of forced displacement within the Asia Pacific region and aim to have a tangible impact on policy.

Fellowship Details:

• Duration: 6 months
• Award: NZD $12,500
• Support: Mentorship, professional development seminars, and a special workshop on academic publishing.
• Outcome: Fellows are expected to complete a policy paper and present their findings in a virtual forum.

Eligibility:

• Must have recently completed a master’s or PhD with research focused on displacement issues in the Asia Pacific.
• Topics can range from education in emergencies, climate change-induced displacement, to the cultural heritage of displaced communities.
